I recently shot headshots for the lovely and amazing Kelly from Design Crush (who has become a fast friend after first meeting via mutual friend Danielle). Kelly shares a love of color and shape and design, and so our working together was a no brainer for me. We were able to use splashes of neons and yellow stripes and even a van straight of Scooby Doo as we jumped from corner to alleyway to random stairs.

We went to Automobile Alley, which is quickly becoming a favorite part of town for photos (and eating). These are a few of my favorites.

Yesterday my photo, Out in the Middle of Nowhere, was featured on the front page of Utata.
I’ve loved this group formed by and for photo lovers and shooters for years, and having them use a photo of mine on their front page was like a gigantic trophy of lovvvve.
I shot this photo on Route 66 in San Jon, New Mexico on a road trip from LA to Oklahoma City. It was a transformative trip, and that this photo would be recognized at this moment on this site is just perfect. Thank you Utata and Greg! View high resolution

I shall not look back upon the tree house with wistfulness, but “Ohhhh! The home of a thousand adventures!”
And also share photos as they come out of the vast maze that is my photo editing process which takes place during the times I manage to find myself at home.
This was taken there on one of those perfect Los Angeles afternoons where windows were open and sun was streaming every where, even the shade.
And this is a shell from the beach in front of my grandfather’s in Santa Cruz. And that is from the tops of trees 125 steps down.
(And this is why I love my Nikkor 50mm1.8 more than lenses 10 times as expensive.)
